We are delighted to celebrate Right at Home Sydney Inner West's fifth year in business! 

Owners Said and Clarissa Azizi started looking into franchise opportunities in 2020 with the goal of building a business and growing a family while helping others. After much research the couple landed on Right at Home Australia for the company’s approach to quality care. 

“Right at Home’s mission ‘to improve the quality of life for those we serve’ really resonated with us,” Said explains. 

For Said, aged care is more than a profession; it offers the chance to make a real difference in people’s lives.  

“Quality care goes beyond simply providing services,” he says. 

“It is about understanding each person’s unique needs and supporting them with genuine empathy and compassion.” 

Said and Clarissa opened their doors to the public on 1 March 2021 in the Sydney suburb of Concord. They have learnt much about running a home care franchise over the years and have harnessed resilience when faced with obstacles and challenges.  

“The support and encouragement of the Right at Home network have helped us to get through challenging times and this support is so important when you run a business of this nature,” Clarissa says. 

One particular challenge, Clarissa explains, has been recruitment. 

“Recruiting employees is not easy,” she says. 

“It takes a certain set of skills and personality to recruit well. 

“We’ve spent time educating ourselves and discussing with members from Home Office and other franchisees on how to improve the process.  

“Most importantly, we’ve learned from our mistakes and embraced employing with patience and waiting for the right people to come along.”  

For all franchise owners, there are going to be times when they feel stuck. For Said and Clarissa, access to the Home Office team and other franchise owners in the network has meant they can discuss issues that arise, problem solve, and overcome obstacles. 

“It has been a blessing to work with the network,” Clarissa says. 

“So many individuals we can now call friends.” 

For bourgeoning franchise owners, Said and Clarissa say, ‘you can do it!’ 

“We did and many others before us did,” Said continues.  

“When things get tough, and they will, use your network for support.  

“Doing it on your own is the shortest way to failure.” 

Last year was tough for the home care industry with the start of the government’s Support at Home program.  

“Support at Home has brought many challenges,” Clarissa explains. 

“We would have gone crazy without Home Office taking care of all the background work required to be compliant.  

“We are thankful for everyone in Home Office; we could not have done it without them.  

“Their support has allowed us to continue to provide the best care to our clients. 

“Helping aged care clients to live with dignity, independence, and respect is at the heart of what our Sydney Inner West team does best.”
