Key Traits for Success as a Franchise Owner

There is no magic formula or personality test that will tell you whether you should be in the home care business. There is also no perfect age, gender, or marital status that will guarantee success. But there are some common themes.

Right at Home franchise owners are:

  • A deep-seated drive to care for people in their communities.

  • An understanding of what outstanding customer service means and the drive to provide clients with an excellent experience.

  • A team mentality to support clients, families, other franchise owners, and home office.

  • A commitment to supporting care staff, showing them respect, understanding, and appreciation for the fantastic work they do.

  • An unwavering belief in Right at Home’s core values of approachability, accountability, authenticity, collaboration, and integrity.

Three Types of Right at Home Franchise Owners

Right at Home franchise owners typically fall into three main categories:

  1. Independence Seekers. Business-oriented people who are attracted to in-home care because of the potential for growth. They want to build a single unit business that serves their local community, while also providing independence, flexibility, and quality of life for their own families.
  2. Mission-Driven Providers. Passionate people drawn to in-home care because it improves the quality of life for those they serve. These owners have often seen the need for Right at Home in their own families and recognise the positive impact our services can have.
  3. Business Builders. Ambitious people who want to build a substantial, multi-unit business of up to three territories. About 10% of our owners fall into this category.
