Right at Home is delighted to report the sale of Right at Home Perth Rockingham & Armadale. With the addition of Perth Rockingham & Armadale, the company now has eight offices across Western Australia leaving four remaining territories for sale in the region. 

We welcome Owners and Directors Gurmail Singh and Madhvi Thakur, who bring their passion for supporting older Australians and diverse professional backgrounds to Right at Home’s Western Australia ranks. Gurmail and Madhvi describe the Rockingham and Armadale suburbs as mixed communities that are friendly, loyal, and in real need of good local care. They are optimistic about the opportunity to build relationships with local hospitals and health services. 

Gurmail has worked in the health care industry for many years and has seen first-hand how much it means to people to get the right support at home as they grow older.  

“I’ve always liked working with people and helping them, so this felt like a good fit for me,” he explains. 

Like all our franchise prospects, Gurmail did his due diligence and looked at several home care franchise opportunities before making a decision.  

“My first phone call with [Right at Home Managing Director Daryl Sahli] gave me a lot of confidence in the company and then attending Discovery Day at Home Office sealed it for me,” he says.  

“Meeting all the staff in person was really impressive, they came across as genuine, honest people, and that gave me the reassurance I needed.” 

“On top of that, the training and support they offer and the RightStart program, gave me a good start.”  

It’s just the beginning for Gurmail and Madhvi. 

“It's been a big learning curve so far, but having a good partner like Madhvi and support from Home Office has made it easier,” Gurmail says. 

He has three pieces of advice for prospective home care franchise owners. 

“Know your numbers before you start, get out and build relationships with the local community early, and be ready to get your hands dirty, especially in the beginning.”
